Spotify for Artists
Pitch a song to the playlist editors
Spotify is a commercial music streaming service providing digital rights management-restricted content. Music can be browsed or searched by artist, album, genre, playlist, or record label. Free subscriptions can listen to music, interrupted by targeted advertisements. Paid "Premium" subscriptions remove advertisements and allow users to download music to listen to offline.
The service has also introduced social functions such as the "Follow" feature which allows following friends or artists and verified artist profiles.
Spotify was launched in October 2008 by Swedish startup Spotify AB. As of November 2020, the service has approximately 320 million monthly active users with 144 million paid subscribers.
Spotify offers music via on-demand streaming only.
Streams are offered in DRM-enforced Vorbis q5 or q9 format.
Available in Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, and Uruguay.
Paid Streams: You get paid a proportionate share of subscription revenue per month calculated on terms set out in our agreement with the store (this usually excludes streams during a subscriber's free trial). Payments will fluctuate each month, depending on the amount of subscription revenue generated and how many times your music was streamed.
Spotify for Artists puts you in control of your profile on Spotify. You can promote your music and the music you’re into, add your bio, update your images, dig into listener stats, and much more.
Click Claim Your Profile at the top-right of this page to get started. Once we confirm who you are and give you access, you’re in charge.
