A new validation has been implemented to ensure that all audio tracks with genre Spoken Word/Speeches (primary or secondary genre) delivered to Spotify have a duration of at least 3 minutes. This new behavior caters for the new Spoken Word policy of the channel, which introduces this new content delivery requirement for all Spoken Word deliveries.
In case that a release contains an audio with less than a 3 minutes duration, the system will flag it and prevent its distribution:
When the “Distribute this release” button is clicked and the general validations for distribution are not passed, a new channel warning will be displayed in the “Validation” pop-up.
If the general validations for distribution are passed, a channel warning will be displayed when the “Distribute this release” button is clicked and user selects channels for distribution.
Finally, the message will be displayed in the “Distribution” tab within the Spotify “Actions” area preventing the content distribution.
In order to override the error message and be able to distribute, the end-user should change the release genre or add an audio of more than 3 minutes.
