Description

Countdown Pages are designed to help you build hype for a new album and, ultimately, drive week-one streams. Fans who pre-save your album on your Countdown Page will get a push notification when it’s released, and we’ll automatically add your album to their library so they can start streaming.

After you publish a new Countdown Page in Spotify for Artists, top fans will be automatically notified that one of their favorite artists has an upcoming release. They’ll be able to pre-save your release, preview the track list, watch exclusive video content, and more. They’ll see the three most recent Clips videos you added to your page, and when they click one, they’ll be able to explore more in your video feed. If you’ve already released any tracks from the upcoming album, they’ll be playable within the track list preview, so fans can stream your new music as they watch the timer count down.

Elegibility

Artists with at least 5,000 active listeners in the 28 last days can create a Countdown Page for their upcoming album.

Check if you're eligible:

  1. Log in to Spotify for Artists on web

  2. Go to  Audience then Segments.

  3. Click Active audience to see how many active listeners you have.

Tip: Make sure you're checking your active listeners, not your overall monthly listeners.

Your upcoming release also needs to meet a few criteria:

  • Only new and original albums and EPs are eligible for Countdown Pages. Singles aren't eligible. Subsequent versions of the same album or EP - regardless of added or altered material - aren't eligible either. This includes deluxe editions, anniversary editions, reissues/remasters, and compilations

  • You need to deliver your finished release as per standard procedure trough Omziki

  • If your release has multiple main artists, only the 1st-named main artist can create a Countdown Page, and the Countdown Page only appears on that artist's Spotify profile

  • Countdown Pages currently only support a handful of split rights releases. We hope to support more split rights releases in the future

Creating a Countdown Page

For: Admins and Editors

  1. Log in to Spotify for Artists on web

  2. Go to MUSIC > then UPCOMING.

  3. Select the release, and click Get started.

  4. Upload Clips and tag your merch.

  5. Review and publish.

Note: Once the release metadata is delivered via Omziki, you’ll see the option to create the Countdown Page within 72 hours.

You can create and edit a Countdown Page up until the release goes live.

Once published, fans can start pre-saving your release and watching your Clips via your artist profile, the Now Playing view, notifications, and more.

When your new music goes live, we send a push notification to all pre-savers and add it straight to their library. On average, nearly 70% of users who pre-save an album stream it during week one.

Availability

Countdown Pages are available to listeners in the Spotify desktop and mobile apps in every market Spotify operates in.

Clips in Countdown Pages are viewable in the Spotify mobile app in 70+ markets.
