Users deliver sound recording assets to YouTube Content ID which then claims large amounts of spam videos or illegal uploads of TV shows and movies.
How can these practices be identified?
These practices have common behaviour patterns. In addition to this article, the typically involved profile can also be identified because:
- Users who only distribute to 1-2 DSPs, primarily YouTube Content ID and Spotify.
- Users with a disproportionate amount of royalties coming from 1 single DSP (usually YouTube or Spotify).
